IFCS WAC 2010 … The Land Torpedo is armed and almost ready
Pretty cool design with some weird Pirate Dog logo attached to the sleeves, right sleeve with my name, left sleeve for Mr & Ms Owners. Actually it is a cutout of my head after some major touch ups by Mr Owner … he must have gotten carried away as I can hardly recognize myself other than the floppy ears, but it is pretty groovy! Comes in limited edition Man and Lady tees as well … Men get the black V neck soft cotton T, Ladies have the grey round neck baby T.Why only 1 team? Well, agility is still a fairly new sport here and we do not have a large number of participants, plus the costs of flying to UK isn’t cheap. As a result, there wasn’t much of a selection process, but my owners figured that being the only dog with MACH. titles from 2 major agility schools, PetnYou and Penang Dog Agility Association, does count for something. Speed is my main asset but my contacts aren’t so hot, so Mr Owner has me working on running contacts throughout the weekends. The lack of readily available agility facilities to practice on is a bummer but we make do with what we have. We hope to nail the contacts in 1.5 months time, nevertheless Mr Owner is more confident of a decent showing in Jumpers class.
6 events will be run over 3 days from May 14 - 16 2010 in the Hand Equestrian Arena, Somerset, UK comprising of Agility, Jumpers, Snookers, Gamblers, Biathlon (Agility + Jumpers) and Team (3 dogs) events. I don't have a team so will be running in the 5 individual events. Would have been even better with a full team, maybe next time. There will be 4 classes; Toy, Small, Midi & Maxi and I am slotted to appear in Mini. Running surface is a mix of sand and vaseline normally used by the horses, not sure how well it works for dogs though.
The Malaysia agility team Tshirts are printed, my bum is on it, my bags are packed … err not quite, Mr & Ms Owners have their work cut out trying to pick out the most appropriate and fashionable spring wear from my limited wardrobe collection. I suggested to go bare but owners are wary that it may get a little chilly at night/ early mornings… nevertheless, I do get to run naked in WAC 2010, sweet!
Also can’t wait to leave my mark at the famous Hyde and Kensington parks in central London. Just need a final clearance from the official vet on some Nippy virus and I’m good to go. Woo Hoo!
